The African-American Educational and Cultural Festival will celebrate African-American culture annually by providing a place and date to commemorate together our distinctions and our similarities.
This Festival Organization’s mission will reflect a grassroots effort to promote diversity, multiculturalism, unity and family. Although the main events will be free to the public, modest donations will be used to assist charitable organizations such as College Scholarships, Youth Organizations, Church Charities, Arts Foundations and Disaster Relief Funds.
It should be noted that the word festival was chosen to connote the celebration aspect of this program which will be the culmination of the year round activities. Festival could have easily and appropriately been replaced with the word Foundation, which would then include the many other worthwhile activities the organization will be involved in throughout the year.
AAECF seeks to assist in stabilizing and giving people a sense of purpose and direction. Further, we promote, enhance, and educate persons from ‘infancy to adulthood’; increase cultural awareness; and thereby improve the total ‘quality of life’ of persons in this community, state, and nation. We utilize a ‘grassroots’ effort, multimedia, and any means necessary to get the message out, uplift, and to stabilize the citizens.
